Girl Arrested For Changing Classmate's Name To 'Masturbate'

Girl, 17, was arrested May 14 on suspicion of first-degree property damage, a felony, and harassment after allegedly changed the last name of fellow studentRaigan Mastain to "masturbate" in the school's yearbook.
No charges have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon, but Assistant Boone County prosecutor Spencer Bartlett said the case remains under review.
Kaitlyn Booth's prank affected some 720 yearbooks and reprinting them would have cost $41,000. Instead, the yearbook staff fixed Mastain's name for the online version, and spent 12 hours placing stickers over Mastain's name, Gawker reported.
Mastain said she wasn't happy about the prank, but "wasn't devastated" either.
"I was kind of annoyed. It was stupid, but I wasn't that upset," she told the Columbia Daily Tribune, adding that she was surprised Booth was arrested.
"I understand the legality … but I was definitely pretty shocked," she told the paper. "When you're in high school, you do stuff that is not necessarily the smartest, and this was an example of that."
